Captain Adam’s Maiden Voyage
Trip report posted at 6:14 pm on the 5th June, 2005

Captain Adam Houghton left the Gladstone Marina on his Maiden Voyage to the Swain’s Reefs. Adam has been a most valuable crewman on the Kanimbla for the last 4 years and his personality, local knowledge and skills in seamanship make him an obvious choice as relief Skipper. Both Bruce and Garry(retired) waved him off and the wharf amid cheering from the passengers.

Here Bruce gives Adam a good luck hug ( not that there is anything wrong with a bit of man-hugging) and discuss the weather report and charter plan.

Daddy is way cool!
Dear Adam
I hope you had a good time on your boat, and I hope you enjoyed being the Captain. love Lauren.
Way to go Adg
I taught everything he knows
Hi Adam
Congratulations on your first voyage as skipper Love Chris, Col, Aimee, Steph & Kara
We had the privalage of being looked after by Adam and his crew Deb, Charlie and Cameron, from the 18th to the 25th.
This was as a group our best trip ever with good weather and good fishing.
Adam is (as he has always been) a valuable member of the team on Kanimbla and now as Skipper does the Role as a true proffessional. This takes nothing away from the past trips and all who have looked after us so well.
All our best to Garry who has been our skipper in the past
There is no better charter boat operating out of Gladstone and we all look forward to our trip each year
John West on behalf of all who have had the chance to do this trip
Congratulations Adam, On ya Deb, Maurice & Dy
