Validiction – Garry Gould
Trip report posted at 2:13 pm on the 26th August, 2005
It is with great saddness that we say farewell to our long time friend and business partner Garry Gould.
Garry died peacefully at home on the 3rd August after being diagnosed with secondary cancer earlier this year.
A memorial service was held overlooking the Gladstone Harbour and was well attended by dear friends and the local marine community.
Another service attended by family and friends was held at Miles QLD where he was buried.
‘Gazza’ was a great friend, the best partner you could wish for and will be greatly missed.
Those who wish to pass on their thoughts and condolences to Garry’s wife, Gwen and family, can do so via email at : ggou3754@bigpond.net.au
Forever Fair Wind & Gentle Seas Garry…Love Bruce & Louise Stobo

The Super Seamen will all miss Garry with his friendly nature and broad smile. He was a gentle and kindly guy who loved humour. A real bushy at heart who [typically] always figured that somehow he had paid too much tax to the government. He wasn’t a bad cook and we all lived to tell the tale! Once we had an apparition of him coming towards Kanimbla on a Cat at Saumarez – something about gas, not gazz. Cannot recall him catching many fish but then again, maybe he didn’t want to ‘out do’ us younger guys. The charter scene has lost a genuine character and a good bloke. Now he is on that one last cruise – see you later mate.
